2019 Plymouth United Church of Christ Scholarship Application
All applications must be received on or before Friday, June 7, 2019.
Scholarship Sunday is July 28, 2019
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Please read the following instructions carefully to be eligible to receive a Plymouth United Church of Christ Scholarship. Individual scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ as of April 1, 2019. Membership is defined as a person who has either been confirmed, transferred his/her membership to Plymouth United Church of Christ from another church or made a public confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at Plymouth United Church of Christ. Christening is not defined as membership.
- Be a high school graduate with the date of graduation no more than five (5) years prior to the date of the application.
- Be an entering freshman accepted by a (2 or 4 year) accredited college or university as a full-time student.
- Be a sophomore, junior or senior, enrolled in a (2 or 4 year) accredited university as a full-time student, possessing a cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Eligible applicants must submit the following documents:
- A completed Plymouth United Church of Christ Scholarship Application in .docx saved format form sent to puccscholarship@gmail.com. Failure to timely complete any portion of the application will result in a determination of ineligibility.
- For entering freshmen – a copy of the letter of acceptance from the college or university you plan to attend. Letter must be sent by mail only (no email) to Plymouth United Church of Christ, 600 E. Warren Ave., Detroit MI 48201.
- For sophomores, juniors and seniors – an official transcript reflecting your cumulative grade point average should be mailed to Plymouth United Church of Christ 600 E. Warren Ave. Detroit, Michigan 48201. An official transcript is an unopened transcript sent from the university you attend. Online transcripts are not accepted. If you are unable to secure an official transcript to submit with your application, a written statement must accompany the application explaining the reason. A check will not be issued until an official transcript is received by the Scholarship Committee. All transcripts must be received by October 1, 2019. Qualified applications are eligible to receive a scholarship for no more than four (4) years.
