China Tour Travel Log #5
Plymouth United Church of Christ
September 24, 2017
Yesterday, our group left Xian by plane for Shanghai. The plane was delayed for an hour, but we eventually took off. Landing in the rain, after gathering our bags, we took the “Bullet Train” into the city. The “Bullet Train,” we were told was traveling at 190 miles per hour. The trip into the city on the train only took seven minutes!
We departed the train and went to the “Knock Off Mall.” While at the “Knock Off Mall,” Denise ordered a pizza and I had amazing mushroom and rice dish that I am going to try to recreate when we return home. Following the shopping tour, we were taken to a local restaurant that serves traditional Shanghai food. I especially liked the Shanghai noodles and the Wonton Soup.
Our hotel is very modern, in a western way. Because I have not been able to post on WordPress a full blog since we arrived in China, I am including some of the other blog posts as well. Our plan for today is to visit jade and silk factories and end the night at an acrobatic show.
